In addition to generating a pathology report, the submitting clinician is routinely called concerning each serious diagnosis or whenever an explanation of a diagnosis or its implications for patient treatment is necessary. A pathologist is present in the laboratory at all times and is available for telephone consultation. Our laboratory also provides free interpretation of radiographs for our contributors and consultative opinions regarding difficult oral medicine problems. Our computer system has access to the latest literature pertaining to all aspects of oral disease. This information is made available to our referring doctors and is an invaluable aid in patient management.
